About the Author
Jennifer Lilya grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she spent countless hours sketching her Barbie dolls and still does to this day! Barbie, Fashion Plates and '80s pop culture influenced her love of fashion and art, inspiring her to move to NYC to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she majored in Fashion Illustration. She specializes in fashion illustration in acrylics and black ink on paper. Her combination of fashion art and witty hand-lettering gives her pieces a whimsical, modern edge. Jennifer has been illustrating professionally since 1993. Her love of runway sketching and her traditional, non-digital approach to illustration has garnered her numerous clients including ELLE, Katy Perry, Barneys NY, Dolce & Gabbana, Stila Cosmetics, WWD, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, dELiA*s, Edelman PR, Cosmopolitan, Express, Piperlime, Hanro, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Mood Fabrics, Dove and American Airlines among many other brands, fashion designers and publications. Must have!!!

As a rookie to fashion illustration,like myself, this book covers all the bases. Providing great tips and loads of inspiration, this book is a must have. I've learned more in 20 minutes with this book than I did taking an illustration course. From color theory to movement Jennifer Lilya nails it each time. I highly recommend this for every fashionista wanting to expand their creativity.

A MUST BUY for aspiring fashion illustrator, FABULOUS!

This book is absolutely fabulous! I bought 2 copies, one to keep and one as a gift. My niece loves this book and plans on becoming a fashion illustrator. Jenn Lilya did an incredible job with all of her step-by-step instructions and amazing illustrated samples for guidelines. Highly recommend it!!

Exceeded Very High Expectations

I got this book shortly after its release and it exceeded my highest expectations. I knew the content would be good, but the art reproduction itself within it is also terrific -- something that is not always easy when translating art to printed pieces. Moreover, the interesting and engaging way the information is both articulated and laid out graphically makes this a very captivating read. Whether you want to learn how to draw or just want to see what separates truly extraordinary talent from all the rest, this book is a must-have.
