About the Author
Mary Cay Ricci talks about mindset and how important it is to change your thinking in order to change your life to teachers, parents, and students across the country. She's worked for school districts in Maryland and has taught courses for Johns Hopkins University. She's also the New York Times' best-selling author of Mindsets in the Classroom: Building a Culture of Success and Student Achievement in Schools and several other books.

Good resource, but...

If I hadn't already purchased the Mindsets in the Classroom book, I would have been very happy with this purchase. Most of the resources provided in this book are shown in Ricci's first book, albeit in smaller format. The information and handouts in this book are certainly helpful and I will use them, but I wouldn't recommend buying both books--just buy this one and you'll be ready to teach colleagues, parents, and students about the growth mindset.

This is an amazing resource! After taking the class last school year

This is an amazing resource! After taking the class last school year, I am excited to see how my students respond to the activities in this book. They're easy to follow and materials are minimal. Great resource for anyone looking to enhance the positive atmosphere of their classroom.

A good resource for growth mindset.

I've been working hard to change the mindset we have in my classroom, and this book is a good resource. I am reading it in bits and pieces during our 10 minute silent read time in study hall, and it is the perfect way to read it. I feel like if I read more, I'd forget what I read. This way, I have time to process what I've read and a whole day to see how I could apply it in my classroom.
I've already used a couple of the videos they suggested and shared some of the ideas with colleagues.
Growth mindset is tough for teachers and kids to wrap their brains around because it is so different than what we are used to. This is a good resource for that! I definitely am not an expert, but I'm working on it with my 8th graders and my 2 year old at home!
